Product Description

Using all the same technical performance materials and superb design as our Ascent Pro Bibs, these bib shorts incorporate the Ultra-soft Silicone Gripper at the leg openings as opposed to Compression Band. That means these bibs will fit a little shorter and may be a better choice for larger thighed or shorter cyclists.

  • Rear and Side Mesh Panels
  • Integrated anatomical design for enhanced compression and support
  • Italian-made Cytech Elastic Interface® XC Carbonium chamois features 3 multi-structured levels (10-8-4mm), high protection foam, anatomical shaping and Elastic Bioactive surface fabric with carbon fiber to transfer heat
  • Ultra-soft Silicone Gripper
  • Flatlock stitching eliminates chafe points

Fabric Details

Zaffiro Shield XC is a classical double opposite interlace warp knitted fabric from the Italian company Miti®, composed of multi-filament polyamide yarns and Lycra power® using looms of the latest SUPER 40 generation. The super dull polyester yarn used results in outstanding covering features, giving Shield great performance and comfort along with brilliant colors. The fabric's compactness, density and balanced multidirectional elasticity make it an ideal fabric for use in bib shorts and speedsuits.

Chamois Details

The Italian made Cytech chamois is the ultimate top-end cycling short insert, developed after thousands of hours of wear testing to curve perfectly with human anatomy where it meets the saddle. Covered with a specifically constructed breathable microfibre, this chamois is naturally bacteriostatic and incorporates the all-way stretch of the unique Elastic Interface® Technology, designed to relieve pressure and provide maximum comfort and performance.

Product Reviews

  1. Great Fit and excellent Chamois

Posted by WineCycler on 30th Apr 2013

I was told the 2012 Ascent Cycling Bibs were no longer available and I was getting the 2013 version. I do not know which I have. The Chamois is Red in Color>
Great Fit and excellent Chamois for sit bones. I do find the chamois is a tad undersized in front as a modesty panel though. I was skeptical due to the price on sale, but as good as my more expensive bibs.

  2. Different than the ones I recieved in Feb 2013

Posted by Unknown on 26th Mar 2013

The review below dated 7th Feb 2013 is mine also

I ordered the same product 2 months ago. They fit a little tighter and the chamois was different in both color and. padding. I like them a lot and and comfortable in them

The ones I got this time fit me better though. The pad is black not red, and its thinner, still dense enough just a little thinner.

Bottom line is even though they each fit me a little diffently and the chamois is different, both are really good for me.

Easily worth full price, at 50% off its a no brainer

  3. Awesome on sale

Posted by Unknown on 7th Feb 2013

Really wel lmade. Leg grippers arent very grippy but they held for an hour on the trainer.
Im 6'2, 210lbs with a 37in waist. I wear a size 36 or 38 depending on how things are cut. Reading the size chart and the warning that things are "race fit I ordered the XL sized 38-41. It was a little tight going on but once on it was fine.

My thigh is 28in, size chart says the XL is 27.3. Again going on I thought it wasnt going to work, once on just fine. Straps felt a little short also but I didnt notice and pressure on the bike.

Chammy is what Iike, dense but thin and very absorbent.

  4. Great fit, comfortable also

Posted by Unknown on 5th Aug 2012

I enjoyed the fit of the bib, but initially the material of the bib left a little to be desired. However, did feel ZERO discomfort after 45 miles. Price/value ratio = great!

  5. Straps stay put for women riders

Posted by Chris - St. Louis, MO on 4th Aug 2012

I was a little unsure if a men's cycling bib would work well for a woman rider, but believe it or not, the straps stay in place despite not having a connection point in the front near the bust line. The inseam is very generous, and the leg grippers keep the shorts from sneaking up the leg without cutting off circulation just above the back of the knee. I like not having the restricting elastic line around the waist, and the mesh straps allow for plenty of air movement and moisture wicking. So far, these are a keeper!

  6. Fantastic comfort at unbeatable price

Posted by Unknown on 18th Jun 2012

I purchased these bib shorts as a result of a discount promotion. After my first ride I was hooked. The sizing chart is spot-on and the fit is perfect. The chamois, which is the quality of shorts costing twice as much, offers the highest level of comfort and protection that I have experienced. The overall quality is unbelievable for price. I have no reservation about recommending these to anyone, and I will purchase more in the future.
